CREAM AND BEIGE

Today I have a card to show that a friend at work asked me to make for her daughter who is celebrating a birthday next week. The only thing she asked for was something in cream and beige....

Well that had me stumped until I spied the left over pieces of paper from a scrapbook page that I did at Running With Scissors a fortnight ago.....I have almost completed this page but am waiting for some photos that I particularly want to put on the layout....its my daughter's prom this Friday, one of them anyway....she's having two....and I want some photos from this event to complete the page.

Anyway I digress, this is the card I made......

The image is one of my new stamps that I bought from Dimension Fourth at Doncaster a few weeks ago. I stamped the image and added shading with a Promarker and glittered all the edges of the letters and the leaves. A very kind lady at Dimension Fourth was demonstrating how to do this technique and kindly gave me the sample she had done so I could have a go myself....and this was my attempt. The papers as I say are the leftover scraps from the yet to be completed scrapbook page....yet to be shown. I then just added a a ribbon, some punched flowers and some pearls and jewels.

Thank you for looking.

LAVENDER CHILL OUT

Hello...what a wonderfully sunny day it is today although a bit hot for me I'm afraid....

How lucky am I?  I've got a week off work and I so hope the weather holds and I've also got the tennis to watch too...couldn't have planned it better if I'd tried....which I didn't.

Today's card is made with an image I coloured quite a while ago but have never got round to using.

I love House Mouse stamps, they are just so cute. I have coloured these little mice using Promarkers. The papers are from Craft Creations Limited. I bought quite a few of these in different colours as I have a bit of a thing about spots and stripes at the moment.  I have used some Bazzil card that I've had in my stash forever....think I bought these shades way back when I first started making cards. I have used a Martha Stewart border punch and I found the pearls at the bottom of my craft basket where I keep odds and ends but they matched perfectly.

LEMON AND LIME

The weather is beautiful today and I have managed to make a bright and sunny card to share.

The image is one of my new Sugar Nellie stamps called Fairy Tale. I have coloured her with Promarkers, I think I'm getting the hang of them now. The papers are a mixture of Basic Grey and Kaisercraft.  I have used a couple of Nestability dies and a Martha Stewart border punch. The flowers are from my scraps box and came from various places. I've then just added some punched leaves and a butterfly and not forgetting a couple of brads and some Stickles to the hem of the dress.

These are not my usual choice of colours so I was a little out of my comfort zone but I wanted to play along with a few challenges.

ALNWICK WATER GARDENS

I've finished another scrapbook page....yes really....I have!!!. I wonder how long I can keep this up?.

This morning I went to my local craft shop Running With Scissors as I do on a Saturday morning for a scrapbook class and again I came home and actually finished the page rather than putting it on one side to finish....sometime later.

Again these photos were taken at Alnwick Castle Gardens in Northumberland in the water feature gardens last year.  Well worth a visit....Alnwick is where they filmed some of the Harry Potter scenes. I'm afraid my photo of this page isn't very good.

Thanks to Tracey who designs all the scrapbook pages for us. I hope you don't mind Tracey but I added a few of my own embellishments and decided not to use the ribbon.

I've got a week off work now but have a 'To Do' list as long as my arm but am hoping to sneak in a bit of crafting.

I think Mr Blogger is playing up as my followers appear to have vanished yet again.

LADYBIRD LADYBIRD

I have been trying to make this card all week and today I finally found the time. I've had the idea for this card since I saw a picture on a challenge last Sunday on the Cupcake Inspirations challenge blog....and I knew exactly which stamp would fit the bill.

This picture was the inspiration and this is what I came up with....

The image is a stamp from Dimension Fourth Ltd which I bought when I went to the Stamp Magic show at Doncaster a few weeks ago.

I have coloured the image with Promarkers and added a few embellishments from my stash, the little wooden ladybirds arrived in a scrapbook kit last week and I thought they were ideal for this card. I have used some Bazzil and Kraft card for the matting and a Martha Stewart border punch on the Kraft card. I added some Stickles to the daisy and a little glossy accents to the ladybirds to make them stand out.

PHANTOM MEETS ONION MAN

Today I'd like to share two scrapbook pages that I did a while ago at my local craft shop Running With Scissors....'just to prove that I do actually finish my pages'....eventually!!!  Thanks to Tracey who always comes up with such lovely ideas and layouts.

The photographs were taken in my mum's garden where a rogue onion from the veggie patch had bolted and flowered, leaving some of the bulb skin around the flower head. I took a pen and drew a face on the remaining skin so it ended up looking like a masquerade mask....so Phantom of the Opera meets Onion Man.

I was also asked to do another of my boxed cards for a 30th Wedding Anniversary....it is much the same as the other cards that I have made and shown but I didn't want anyone to think I'd been sat back doing nothing lately.....ha ha!!!.

MINNIE MOUTH!!!

Today I have a scrapbook page I'd like to show which has some photos that were taken of my daughter some time ago....her hair has been cut since then and now she has a very short inverted bob which really suits her.

I tried to match the papers to the outfit she was wearing and the theme was inspired by the amount of noise she can generate for such a wee girl....hence the title....Minnie Mouth!

I used a piece of black 12x12 card for my base layer and I had red and white polka dot paper and black and white polka dot card that I'd salvaged from the bottom of a gift box. I stitched around two edges of the card and cut out little Mickey Mouse motifs using a Cricut cartridge I'd borrowed from a friend. The flowers and brads were from my stash. The title was cut out using another Cricut cartridge but I can't remember which one it was..

PEARLS AND SWIRLS

First I must apologise for my absence this week, I've just been so busy and very tired and my inspiration took a bit of a walk but I'm hoping its back now.

Today I'd like to show a birthday card I made...I wanted to to make it all pink and girly.

The image is a Magnolia stamp. The papers are from my scraps box....I don't throw anything away but then can't remember what make they are....sorry....I coloured Tilda with Distress Inks. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I punched out the leaves and the swirls using various punches and then die cut the mounts using my Nesties. I've added a little Stickles  to the fairy dust in her hands and finished off with a few pearls and a ribbon.

JUST BECAUSE...

Today I have a card to show that I made just because I had the time...

I've had the little fairy coloured for quite a while after I had spent an evening following a tutorial on Lili of the Valley on how to blend Promarkers to get different effects.

The papers are from my scraps box and from Basic Grey. The image is from Lili of the Valley. I have used my new Shapeability die that I picked up at the weekend at The Stamp Magic show. The border punch and the butterfly are from Martha Stewart. I added Stickles to the fairy's wings and the flowers and a few gems to finish off.

MOUSE IN A NUTSHELL

Afternoon everyone...I have spent a lovely morning at the Stamp Magic craft show buying a few new goodies. I was very good and although I didn't stick to the shopping list, I did stick to the budget...'just'.

Today I have a card that I made just because I liked the image...Hence the sentiment.

I love House Mouse stamps and this ones called 'In a Nutshell'. I have coloured him with Promarkers. The papers are Basic Grey and the flowers are from the Hobby House. The sentiment is Lili of the Valley and is part of the set I bought this morning. The leaf punch is from Woodware and I've added some Stickles to the flower and the water.

NEW RESOLUTIONS...IN JUNE

Today was the first day back to scrapbooking classes at one of my local craft shops since before Christmas. The reason for this being that there was a flood in the shop when we had all 'that' snow way back in December. The shop is all now refurbished and back up and running and looking very smart and it was really nice to see everyone again.

Anyway my resolution is to make sure I actually finish the pages I start...it may be easier now as we only do one page instead of two...although the pages are now a little more intricate. I can't tell you how many pages I have in my 'to finish pile'...Well I'm off to a good start as I've finished today's page. I must admit I haven't done much scrapbooking lately and was a little rusty but I soon got back into the swing.

These photos were taken of my boyfriend at Alnwick Castle gardens last summer. We stayed a week in a cottage in Northumberland and actually spent two days at Alnwick as there was so much to do.

Thank you to Tracey at Running With Scissors who keeps us all on the straight and narrow while scrapping and who comes up with such lovely designs and ideas...you have the patience of a saint.

MASQUERADE FAIRY

Evening everyone....People keep telling what a lovely day its been apart from the odd shower but as I've been at work from 8am to 6pm I haven't seen much of it...it is a lovely evening though.

Today I'd like to share a card that I made using my new Sweet Pea stamp. I've had my eye on these stamps for a while so thought I'd treat myself and bought one or two...or maybe more.

The image is called Fall Masquerade Fairy and I coloured her with Promarkers. The papers are just scraps from my scraps box. The jewels, pearls and flowers are from The Hobby House. I used a Martha Stewart border punch and then added some Stickles to the wings, headdress and bangles.

The little metal heart in the top right hand corner was attached to the price tag label on a new top my daughter bought recently and I thought I could make use of it....

HELLO LITTLE BUTTERFLY

Hi everyone, today I have a card that was inspired by a picture over on the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.

I love these shades of blue and lavender but I never seem to manage to get them to match very well.

The image is a Magnolia stamp called ' Hello Little Butterfly' which I bought recently. The papers are from a Forever Friends ~ Pink Parfait paper pad which I found while tidying up my craft room. I have coloured with Promarkers. The flowers are from The Hobby House and Wild Orchid Crafts. I used a Martha Stewart border punch...this must be one of my favourites as I seem to use it quite a lot...or maybe its because I never put it away and its sat on my craft desk....I've added a little Stickles to the butterfly on her bow and the frills on her dress. The flowers have been sprayed with Glimmer Mists and I used a Magnolia die for the dragonfly which was cut from sparkly paper and the edges sponged with some Distress Ink.

STRAWBERRY MOUSE

Yesterday the postman arrived with a parcel from The Craft Barn. I won their 500 Followers Goody Bag a couple of weeks ago.

And this was my prize...

Thank you Craft Barn, I'm sure I'll have great fun using all these lovely crafty bits and pieces.

Today I have a card to show that I made 'just for fun'. I have used yet another stamp that I bought ages ago and never got round to inking up....naughty me!!!

This is a Stampabilities House Mouse stamp called Sleeping With Strawberries. For a change I coloured him with Distress Inks. The papers are a mixture of Basic Grey and My Mind's Eye. I have just added a ribbon and a few pearls and a little Stickles to the strawberry seeds.

VASE OF FLOWERS

Well it started out bright and sunny here but its turning a little overcast and breezy...that's just typical now I've finished the housework and the shopping...Oh well I suppose I will just have to sit down and do some crafting.....

Today I have a card that I made with a stamp I've had for ages but I'd forgotten about...

The image is a Hero Arts stamp ~ Polka-Dot Vase Bouquet. The papers are from my scraps box. I coloured with Promarkers and just added some ribbon, pearls, rhinestones and Stickles.

The inspiration for this card was this picture from the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge: ~

I used a sketch from the Papertake Weekly Challenge. This is a first for me as I have never followed a sketch before.

LEMONADE MOUSE

As its been such a warm and sunny day today I thought I'd make a card to match the summery weather. I bought this stamp this afternoon and couldn't wait to get home and ink him up and colour him in.

He looks very chilled out cooling in the glass of lemonade....The image is of course a House Mouse stamp...Summer...Chill Out from Joanna Sheen.  I coloured him with Promarkers. The papers are a mixture of My Mind's Eye and Basic Grey. I used a Martha Stewart border punch. The flower is made up of old Sizzix die cuts that I keep in a box....I won't throw anything away. I then added a bit of glitter to the flower, lemon and lemonade.

A CARD FROM THE DOG

I seem to have spent a fair bit of time recently making cards for other people so I'm  hoping to get a few cards made 'Just For Fun' over the next few days....

I made two cards for a friend at work who has a granddaughter celebrating a birthday tomorrow.  This is the first one....

She said that her granddaughter liked the colours teal and cream and as she was a young lady I thought this image was perfect...and luckily she thought the same. The image is a Whiff of Joy stamp and I coloured her with Promarkers.  The papers are My Mind's Eye...Hattie. The die is a Marianne Creatable and the roses are from The Hobby House.

The second card she asked me to make for her was from the 'dog'.  As it happened I had a few cards made up that I made after a class well over a year ago. It was a design that my friend Liz came up with and taught at one of my local craft shops. I was quite taken with the idea, the design and style and came home and made a batch of cards with both dogs and cats on. This card has proved quite popular too....so thanks Liz.

Luckily the colours included teal and cream and of course a 'dog'....Hopefully her granddaughter will like both of these cards.

BOXES, BOXES, BOXES...

A month or so ago I was asked to make a 60th birthday card, which because of the roses embellishing it I had to make a box to put it in...well this has set off a bit of thing and since then I have been asked to make several other cards along a similar theme...so the other day I set to and made three.

The first one I made for a friend at work to give to her neighbour for her 91st birthday.

The second one I was asked to make was for another friend at work who's parents will be celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary next week.

The last boxed card I made was for my boyfriend's sister and her partner who are getting married this weekend.

Each card was made in a similar way...it was like a production line in the craft room. I used three different embossing folders, a Martha Stewart punch, roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, a Marianne Creatable for the heart and various Sizzix dies.

I've put them all together in this post as I want to try and record cards that I have made and also for personal future reference...ie if I get stuck for an idea I can look back at what I have created before.
