VASE OF FLOWERS

Well it started out bright and sunny here but its turning a little overcast and breezy...that's just typical now I've finished the housework and the shopping...Oh well I suppose I will just have to sit down and do some crafting.....

Today I have a card that I made with a stamp I've had for ages but I'd forgotten about...

The image is a Hero Arts stamp ~ Polka-Dot Vase Bouquet. The papers are from my scraps box. I coloured with Promarkers and just added some ribbon, pearls, rhinestones and Stickles.

The inspiration for this card was this picture from the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge: ~

I used a sketch from the Papertake Weekly Challenge. This is a first for me as I have never followed a sketch before.

LEMONADE MOUSE

As its been such a warm and sunny day today I thought I'd make a card to match the summery weather. I bought this stamp this afternoon and couldn't wait to get home and ink him up and colour him in.

He looks very chilled out cooling in the glass of lemonade....The image is of course a House Mouse stamp...Summer...Chill Out from Joanna Sheen.  I coloured him with Promarkers. The papers are a mixture of My Mind's Eye and Basic Grey. I used a Martha Stewart border punch. The flower is made up of old Sizzix die cuts that I keep in a box....I won't throw anything away. I then added a bit of glitter to the flower, lemon and lemonade.

A CARD FROM THE DOG

I seem to have spent a fair bit of time recently making cards for other people so I'm  hoping to get a few cards made 'Just For Fun' over the next few days....

I made two cards for a friend at work who has a granddaughter celebrating a birthday tomorrow.  This is the first one....

She said that her granddaughter liked the colours teal and cream and as she was a young lady I thought this image was perfect...and luckily she thought the same. The image is a Whiff of Joy stamp and I coloured her with Promarkers.  The papers are My Mind's Eye...Hattie. The die is a Marianne Creatable and the roses are from The Hobby House.

The second card she asked me to make for her was from the 'dog'.  As it happened I had a few cards made up that I made after a class well over a year ago. It was a design that my friend Liz came up with and taught at one of my local craft shops. I was quite taken with the idea, the design and style and came home and made a batch of cards with both dogs and cats on. This card has proved quite popular too....so thanks Liz.

Luckily the colours included teal and cream and of course a 'dog'....Hopefully her granddaughter will like both of these cards.

BOXES, BOXES, BOXES...

A month or so ago I was asked to make a 60th birthday card, which because of the roses embellishing it I had to make a box to put it in...well this has set off a bit of thing and since then I have been asked to make several other cards along a similar theme...so the other day I set to and made three.

The first one I made for a friend at work to give to her neighbour for her 91st birthday.

The second one I was asked to make was for another friend at work who's parents will be celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary next week.

The last boxed card I made was for my boyfriend's sister and her partner who are getting married this weekend.

Each card was made in a similar way...it was like a production line in the craft room. I used three different embossing folders, a Martha Stewart punch, roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, a Marianne Creatable for the heart and various Sizzix dies.

I've put them all together in this post as I want to try and record cards that I have made and also for personal future reference...ie if I get stuck for an idea I can look back at what I have created before.

BIRTHDAY MOUSE

I've had quite a traumatic week with one thing and another so haven't had time to do any crafting and I'm way behind with the cards I've been asked to make, so I apologise for not posting much this week. Hopefully things will settle down a bit now and get back to normal....whatever normal may be....

Today I have a card that I made at a workshop at one of my local craft shops recently. I wanted to show this card as I love the image and the papers are beautiful. Again I didn't finish it in the class, (I never seem to finish anything in these classes) but I didn't put it on one side never to be completed either....as is my norm....a very bad habit of mine.

The image is one of the House Mouse stamps and its coloured with Copics which I'm rubbish with. We were given everything to make the card in kit form but when I got home I changed a few things from the original card, there was another image on the original but I have saved this to make another card and I added some roses in its place.  I had a lovely few hours in the Sunday afternoon class.  The original card was designed and taught by Kate. Thank you Kate I had a lovely, relaxing afternoons crafting.

MEET CUSTARD!

Its looks as though its going to be another sunny day today although there's a fresh bite to wind....oh the wind, I hate the wind....I don't mind any kind of weather but I hate the wind....its still quite gusty here at the moment but dying down a bit now.

Today I have another bright and sunny card to show...

This is another stamp that I bought a long time ago and have never got round to inking up. The image is Custard, a Sugar Nellie stamp.  The papers I've used for this card are from the Wild Rose Studio ~ Spring Fling. I used Promarkers to add a little colour and I tried a touch of blending (with the blender pen) on the black/grey patches and the pink to her nose. The border punch is from Martha Stewart. I tried to keep the embellishments simple as I thought the papers were bright and fancy enough.

PRETTY IN PINK

Why is it Monday always comes round so quickly.....the weekends are never long enough and seem to vanish in a flash. Never mind, next weekends a little longer with the Bank Holiday so I can look forward to that. Today I have this card...

For some reason the picture appears to have a greeny/blue tinge but I did take it late last night when the light was fading....must brush up on my camera skills.

This is a Magnolia stamp and I must admit she's one of my favourites. I've coloured her with Promarkers and I've used another of my favourite paper pads here...Papermania ~ Rose Garden. I've just added some ribbon, a few pearls and some Stickles to her skirt and flower.
