Learning To Knit...

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I know I haven't blogged very much of late and there have been no cards made at all this year....Whoops!

But....as many of my blogging friends are aware I have been busy with other ventures...the house sale and renovating the new one...Oh when will it end!!! Soon is the answer.....We have now got to a point where we need the last push with the help of some experts.....

For instance the hall floor, which I am reliably informed is a solid oak, original parquet floor and is to be sanded and polished to achieve it's former glory (after it has been covered in lots of paint splashes while painting the original lincrusta which I wanted leaving on the walls) and the stair banister has been stripped down and is being treated to the luxury of a French polish.....

Photos to follow.....

Anyway I haven't been completely idle on the crafting front. One of my New Years resolutions was to learn to knit...properly....My nanna had taught me to cast on, knit, purl and cast off and if I dropped a stitch she was always on hand to help....Sadly my wonderful Nan (who was a great knitter) passed away a few years ago and I wish I'd listened more closely to her teachings.....

So I joined a class in January and apart from meeting lots of friendly, talented knitters....I am now knitting.....Yeah!!!

I started a simple blanket which I am working on and learning lots of new stitches.....all be it slowly I might add....I will share photos of this as I progress...

I also bought a lovely and very simple boxed pattern kit for a cushion....simple moss stitch but here is my progress so far...(a bit slow as the Fibromyalgia keeps rearing its head) but never mind...

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Have a lovely day.

My New Craftroom....

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Just thought I'd share a few photos of my new craft room today.

The room is no where near finished but I have 'stuff'' in there...my stash needs organising and sorting into it's new home but the painting is finished and the floor is down and I am beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel....I think!!!

These are not the best photos but Hey-Ho....

My Storage...not sure this will be enough though!

My lovely new picture and my crafting buddy 'Hartley'....the hare...
(I adore hares and I just had to have him)...

I wasn't sure about the blinds but they are growing on me...

My craft room supervisor...my loyal companion...Bertie!...

I know they are not the best photos and it's looking a tad messy at the moment but at least it's clean and bright and it's my space....and I have a great view of the main road too....I know....I'm very nosey...

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Have a lovely day.

While away on a break, in our favourite place....Whitby......My lovely boyfriend asked me to marry him...!!!

An Update....

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I just thought I'd pop by to say 'Hello' and 'I am still here!'...honest and the house (fingers-crossed) is getting there!!!!.....

The bedroom is finished....the bathroom is finished....the living room is finished....Brogan's room is finished...the utility room is finished and my craft room is 'Finished'.....we have nearly finished the kitchen-diner and the hall is nearly there. The furniture which has been in storage arrives back next week and the rubbish skips arrive at the weekend....

I am sick of the dust....I am sick of painting....I am sick of B&Q but the end is in sight.....At Last!!!!

Things are on hold at the moment though, for me at least as I stood on a nail at the weekend and am somewhat incapacitated and I am still at mum's but hope to move in, in the next few weeks....

We have had a few weekends away, I have done lots of reading and am learning to knit.....but I am itching to get back in the craft room.

We went to Twickenham to see my boys play in the Six Nations....what a treat...as many of my friends are aware Rugby Union is another of my passions...

Still Here....Not Much Crafting Though!

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

If anyone is still looking at my blog....then 'Thank You'...... for sticking with me and being so patient.

It seems such a long time since I last posted anything but things are still busy with the house....so there isn't any crafting taking place at the moment.....but lots of hard work.....

I'm also still at mum and dad's but I'm hoping to be moving in to my new home at the end of the month.....

The whole house has now been plastered and our wardrobes have been fitted in our room. The bathroom is almost complete and the craftroom is coming together at long last.

On Thursday the wood burner was fitted in the kitchen/diner/sitting room and I love it....it's just perfect.

Not finished just yet....but....almost there!

Just a spot of plastering and we can paint and then lay the floors.....Just need to finish the fire in the main living room and a marathon painting job...then all the furniture can come back out of storage. Phew!!!

We are on first name terms with the staff at B&Q.

The Fibromyalgia is playing up but I'm coping rather well.....actually.

So as you can see crafting has had to take a back seat.....although I have joined two classes.....one to learn to crochet and another to learn to knit properly......This was part of my New Year's Resolutions....the only ones I have managed to keep.

I have also managed to read quite a lot in the evenings as I haven't been sleeping too well and have started to record what I have read so far in 2015 in the sidebar....I have to admit that trying to read more was also another New Year's Resolution I made and I'm managing to keep up with that....for now!

Anyway must get on. Things to do.

I will try to pop round your blogs soon.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy your evening.

New Year...New Start!

Good evening everyone.

I hope you are all well and that you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Well I have to apologise for my long absence....the reason....

I moved house a week before Christmas....Yes I know great timing but New Year....New Start...New Home....and lots to do....so I'm afraid I have my DIY hat on right now and not my crafting hat. My new craft room is coming together slowly but most things are still packed away in boxes as I'm living between my parents house and my new home with my partner....but we're getting there....

Anyway here is the last card I made prior to packing up my beloved craft room...

A very simple Christmas card....

This was another easy make using my favourite images from one of the Lili Of The Valley Art Pads. I added paper and Mirri card from my stash and a lovely shiny snowflake decoration that I picked up in the January sales last year. I completed my card by adding pearls from The Hobby House, a computer generated sentiment and lots of sparkly Stickles to add some frosty bling....

I made this card for my daughter's boyfriend.

I hope you are able to bear with me until my new craft room is up and running

and

I would like to wish you all

A Very Happy and Peaceful New Year.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Christmas Friends.....

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Today I have a very quick Christmas card to share....

Please forgive the dreadful photograph....it's the awful light and I couldn't get a decent photo....no matter what I did.

The image is a Christmas Warren Rabbit Die Cut Topper from Craftwork Cards that I have had for years....I don't even think they are available anymore....anyway I found them in a drawer and I'm on a mission to try and use up as much of my stash as possible....

The green starry card was also in the same drawer. I added lots of Stickles for added sparkle (although not clearly visible in this pic) some pearls and a computer generated sentiment and my simple card is complete.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Have a lovely day.
