Smalls SAL 2018 - June Check-In...Better Late Than Never!

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I know I'm late again checking in but it's better late than never....It's been another very busy month I'm afraid....

So this is my third time taking part in

Hosted by Heather over at the Stitching Lotus

(I think Heather is having a little blogging break as there seems to be no link up showing so I will just post here for my own record)....otherwise I'll forget what I have stitched.

This has been a much better month for me for stitching but this is partly due to the fact that I have had some minor surgery to my feet so have been forced to sit and sew....

I had not one but two finishes in June....

Little House Needleworks

Hot Cocoa

And my second finish was

Little House Needleworks

Little Sheep Virtue - 2 - Love

That's two down, ten to go of these little projects....so I'd better get a wriggle on if I want to finish them this year!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

And I am happy to report that I have managed two more finishes...

YEAH...!!!

 ABC chart from Bent Creek

Kitty Cat Row - Completed

Little House Needleworks

Hot Cocoa - Completed

Lavender & Lace

The Spirit Of Christmas

Just a few stitches added to this one...

And finally a few stitches added to...

Dimensions

Seashell Treasures

So not a bad month for me....I just need to keep up the momentum...

Question of the month - Tell us what you think the ideal stitching retreat would include?

Well I'm not sure about this as I have never been on a stitching retreat but I imagine it would have to be somewhere with lots of natural light and comfortable chairs. Somewhere to plug in my light and magnifying lamp....the eyes are not what they were.....Plenty of money for more stitching stash, good company and delicious food and drink....I think that would be a start anyway....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your evening...

  • Anything embellished or finished with items received in the above ways
  • Anything which is intended as a gift or prize for another person
  • Anything else you can somehow shoehorn with word "gift" into!

So here is what I have finally completed...

Kitty Cat Row

Ta-Dah...!!!

This is for a friend of mine who loves her feline friends....

My Chelsea Flower Show 2018...

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well and enjoying the lovely weather.

We arrived back from a wonderful trip to London yesterday. We have had almost a week there and amongst all the things we did we attended The RHS Chelsea Flower Show.  The weather behaved yet again for us....and this time we stayed for a rather lovely al la carte meal in one of the restaurants booked in advance by my lovely husband.

I am lucky enough to have been to the show a few times before and I can happily say that it improves each time we go.....

Here are just a few snaps of our visit this year....

I thought all the gardens were wonderful as always and a feast for the senses. I don't think I had a favourite this year although I did think the Yorkshire Garden was rather special....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

The Enchanting Rose - 12th Tea Cup & Mug Exchange Reveal

Good evening everyone.

I hope you are all well.

So It's Time For The Big Reveal....

The lovely Stephanie from The Enchanting Rose hosted the 12th Tea Cup & Mug Exchange and once again I joined in....There were almost 250 ladies who participated this time around and Stephanie did an amazing job of organisation, as always.

Thank you so much Stephanie......

....this is such a lovely exchange to be part of....

I was absolutely thrilled with the lovely parcel that I received from Lillian in Cornwall.

Here is what I received from Lillian....

SPRING 2018 TEA CUP EXCHANGE

Such wonderful gifts....

I love my beautiful new cup  and saucer....so elegant.

Lillian has really spoilt me....I can't wait to try some of the recipes from the Gifts From The Kitchen book....the fragrant sachets are perfect for my new walk in wardrobe and the gardening gift set is already in use in the greenhouse.

Thank you so much Lillian for my fabulous parcel and all the wonderful gifts inside. How very kind, thoughtful and such clever choices.

Sadly this maybe the last exchange that Stephanie organises but I have taken part in six and have had such beautiful teacups from around the world....as well as making some very special new friends along the way.

Thank you to Stephanie for all your hard work in this fabulous exchange....

Don't forget to pop over to Stephanie's blog to see what all the other ladies received in the exchange....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Tiny Tassels

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I'm so sorry to have been absent for so long.....I am so busy with work and house renovations that I have thought about giving up my blog as I seem to have so little time lately to sit and blog and comment on all the lovely blogs out there.

I'm not even sure if anyone looks at my blog anymore as I have been so inactive lately but I will keep going for now....When I set out with this blogging adventure it was to record my crafting journey so as I still potter a little in the crafting world I will continue.....

I have almost finished my Scheepjes Shawl Of Secrets... I just need to sew in the ends and then block it....I never done this before but will endeavour to do my best.

So I have had my eye on this little number for a while now...it arrived through the post during the week....

It comes in several colourways and I already have plans to buy at least two more when I get the chance to visit the shop in a few weeks time.....I'm still only a novice knitter but the bug has certainly bitten I'm afraid.

And I love this lovely shop...a yarn goldmine....

LOOP

I could spend hours and pounds in here....Oh I already have....Whoops!!!!

If you are still with me...

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Hello Blackbird

Good evening everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Today I just wanted to share some photos of my beautiful new bag that I commissioned from the incredibly talented Irene Campsill from Irene Campsill Designs

I have 'quite' a few bags made by Irene but this was a particular request of mine.....I wanted a blackbird in amongst some branches and Irene created this beautiful bag for me.....

And I adore it....it is so much more than I had imagined.

The Bag...

The Detail...

The Label...

On the reverse of this label is written...

"This bag has been made from a furnishing fabric off cut and oddments of wool skirts and jackets and denim jeans"....

I love my bag and have already another design in mind.....most of my other bags have hares on them so this was a little different for me this time.....

Thank you Irene....you are so very clever and I love my beautiful new bag...

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Once again I have very little to show but I have had a few weekends away this month so I was pushing my luck on the stitching side I'm afraid.

I have only managed to add a few stitches to this

 ABC chart from Bent Creek

Kitty Cat Row

From this to this.....

I know....very poor progress but I am trying....honest.

Again it's has been a very busy month here...

So now I need to see what everyone else has been working on for Gifted Gorgeousness.

So that's two so far....two down only 16 to go...!!!

Cardinal Winter - Little House Needleworks

I only managed a few stitches on my

 ABC chart from Bent Creek

But that's better than nothing I suppose...

Question of the Month - Gadgets! Show us your favourite gadgets! and how did you do with Olympic stitching and what goals did you achieve?

My favourite gadgets are my needle minders....

Here are just a few of them...

I have to admit to having a little obsession for collecting needle minders....

Maybe I'll have a go at making some of my own sometime....

And I didn't take part in the Olympic Stitching....too busy I'm afraid...

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your evening...
