Woman On A Mission....

Good evening everyone.

I hope you are all well.

The woman on a mission is 'Me'....

To lose weight that is....last January 2016 I returned to work after being off for 6 months with a neck/shoulder/muscle problem. In that time my weight ballooned due to gross inactivity....forced inactivity that is...but since returning to work I have gradually managed to lose some of the weight and today I can happily say I have now lost 20lbs.....yeah....!!!

I still have a way to go to reach my goal but I'm getting there, slowly but surely.

I am thrilled as my will power is just awful, I love chocolate and biscuits and I can't bear gyms so all in all I'm pretty pleased with myself.....more so as I have a rather special ocassion coming up in the next few months or so......

More about that later though.....

I will try to post again re my progress.....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Sorting and Knitting....FNWF.

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I know I'm late with this post but it's been a busy week.....but better late than never!!!

I promised myself on Friday that I would join in at

Friday Night With Friends

So  Friday evening found me joining in with like minded crafter's from around the world again who join together (virtually) that is.....on the first Friday of the month to do a spot of knitting, sewing, crocheting etc....whatever craft you like....

Thank you to Cheryll for hosting this fabulous get together.

Anyway I decided to do some sorting and some knitting.....

I sorted patterns and balls of wool and continued to knit squares for the blanket below.

I am so behind with this blanket and I have wool coming out of my ears but I will keep going with it.

I also continued to knit another three squares for my other blanket....(to be revealed towards the end of the year) for the KAL I joined at my local knitting shop....

I'm really enjoying the knitting....but I'm still a novice and learning all the time.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

The Enchanting Rose Tea Cup/Mug Exchange...

Good evening everyone.

I hope you are all well.

My awful cold is now beginning to improve although I still have a sore throat and dreadful sinus pain but I feel as though I'm on the mend....Thank goodness....

To cheer myself up I have once again joined in with Stephanie's 'Tea Cup & Mug Exchange.

I have waited patiently and with just a tad excitement for this lovely exchange. I have taken part twice now and think it is such a lovely thing to do....

Especially as a) I collect vintage tea cups and saucers

and b) I adore tea.

This is the perfect exchange for me and Stephanie runs it fabulously. It's also a lovely way to make new friends with similar hobbies and interests.

Take a little look at the past exchanges and you'll see why I love it so much.

Something Lovely In The Post.....

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I've been feeling a little sorry for myself lately.....I have had Pharyngitis and now have the most horrendous temperatures/headaches and an awful cough but I was cheered up last week when a lovely parcel arrived from the amazingly talented and kind hearted Jenny from Winnibriggs House who had posted a tutorial for making ear warmers/headband and had hosted a giveaway for the materials to make one.

I was very lucky to be one of those to receive a package which included two pieces of fleece and matching Velcro fastenings...perfect colours for me Jenny...!!! I also received a lovely handwritten note and two lovely brooches, one felt, for my crafting interests....which is now adorning one of my craft bags and the other a beautiful vintage heart brooch from Jenny's collection.

Thank you Jenny....you are so very kind and I promise I will get round to making my earmuff/headband as soon as things settle down here at home....I have an idea that I can wear it for my trips to Twickenham for my beloved rugby.....

Finally....Some Stitching To Share!!!

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all keeping well.

So I am being very good and as promised I haven't started any new crafting projects.

I have completed my first four knitted squares for January for the KAL 2017 that I am taking part in at my local knitting shop....I am told I will have one finished blanket by Christmas....Mmmm, we shall see. I will collect the next pattern for February's four squares at my class on Saturday.

I have spent some time adding a few stitches to

The Holly Fairy

So you can see I have made a little progress.

I have also managed to read 7 books towards my 2017 Good Reads Reading Challenge. I have set myself a target of 24 books this year. Less than the previous two years but probably a bit more of a realistic goal. You can see my progress and the books that I have read so far in my sidebar. You can also see what I am currently reading.

Anyway I must get on....

The Twelve Days Of Christmas 2016 Swap...

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Yes I know I am terribly late with this post....and I am very sorry about this but after moving house over Christmas and New Year we have just managed to get the Internet sorted at long last!!!!...

Anyway this year/last year I took part in a 'Twelve Days Of Christmas Swap' again. The wonderful and amazingly organised Jo at Through The Keyhole hosted the swap and I was partnered with the lovely Marlene from Poppy Patchwork.

Here is what I received...

Such lovely things too....there are two boxes of chocolates missing....I ate them before I could photograph them....well you can't blame me can you.

Thank you Marlene for being such a sweet and generous swap partner, I love all my beautiful gifts.

So what am I doing craft wise at the moment....mot much is the answer as its all a bit hectic at home at the minute but I have managed to read 4 books towards this years reading challenge and I joined a KAL at my local knitting shop....so there is a spot of knitting going on.

I have also put one or two stitches more into my

Holly Fairy

So far so good....

I'm not allowing myself to start any new projects this year until I have finished half a dozen or so others.

I wonder how long that will last!!!.....

Christmas Card Swap 2016

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I know I am very late with this post and for that I am very sorry but with work, Christmas and packing up the house it has been a bit of an odd Christmas for me....lovely but very different.

So to catch up I would like to share the card that I received when I joined in with Amy's Christmas Card Swap. My partner was Little Wandering Wren and she sent me this lovely handmade card....isn't it beautiful...sadly his little twig legs were damaged in the post but I love my card....

Thank you Jenny.... You did a fabulous job.

I'm sorry for such a short post but as you can imagine it is so busy here with packing for our move but I felt I really must post about my lovely card while I still have Internet access. Hopefully it won't belong before we're back up and running though.

Anyway lots to do.....so I must get on....

And I just want to add....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Have a wonderful day today and a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year.
