My Chelsea Flower Show 2017 - Part 1...

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well and enjoying the fabulous weather.

We arrived back from a wonderful trip to The RHS Chelsea Flower Show yesterday and what a glorious time we had. The weather behaved....actually it was far too hot but 'Hey' I'm not complaining.....

I am lucky enough to have been to the show before and I can happily say that it improves each time we go.....

Please forgive my awful photography here, I was struggling with the sunshine and the camera.....until I remembered the other camera stowed away in my rucksack.....Silly Me!....

Here are a few photos of the.....

The Artisan Gardens......
(my favourites).....

Gosho No Niwa No Wall, No War

The World Horse Welfare Garden

The Seedlip Garden

The Seedlip Garden ~
(I loved the copper colours and the planting in this garden)

The IBTC Lowestoft Broadland Boatbuilder's Garden

The Viking Cruises Garden Of Inspiration
(I love Barcelona and Antoni Guadi)

The Poetry Lover's Garden
(I stuggled with the lighting here ~ sorry)

The Walker's Wharf  Garden

And Finally

Mr Monty Don

(My Gardening Hero)

(who was walking by on his way to do a spot of filming for the television and was kind enough to keep stopping to pose for photographs and of course answer questions about Nigel)....

I was lucky enough to sneak up and catch this photo as he was posing for photos with other show visitors....I am too shy to ask myself and besides I think he was busy enough but very gracious to oblige so many people....A True Gentleman.....

A Gardening Gentleman

I loved all The Artisan Gardens and it was hard to narrow down a favourite but Gareth liked the The World Horse Welfare Garden best....

I plan to add a few more posts with my photographs of Chelsea over the coming weeks....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

The Whitby Goths....

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

While we were away in Whitby a few weeks ago....well four weeks to be exact....we were lucky enough to experience The Whitby Goth Weekend....and I managed to take a few snaps.

It was a wonderful weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves watching them all dressed up and parading around Whitby.....they were completely happy to stop and have their photographs taken too....

Here are just a few photos....

I loved the steam punk styled outfits...such attention to detail and certainly a different trip to Whitby for us I might add....

Anyway I hope the sun continues to shine for everyone.  I am at work all day today but I did notice how well the salad veg was coming along in the greenhouse when I arrived home last night and after today I have five lovely days off work so hopefully I can start planting some of the salad crops out and sorting the hanging baskets.....lots of plans and lots to do......

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Beaded Scissor Keepers....

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I made a Boo Boo.....with this......

There I was all ready for a few happy hours of cross stitching and then I realised that I mixed up all the greens on 'Santa's' gloves.....did it matter....could I leave it....Of course not.....so I spent the next few hours removing the offending 'greens' and correcting my silly mistake.....Oh the joy....NOT....!!!

I have never made this mistake before and I will make sure it doesn't happen again....believe me!!!...

On another note I keep losing my little embroidery scissors at the bottom of my craft bags or baskets, so I invested in a few scissor keepers....

The charms at the end of the beading are -

A Flower - A Mermaid - A Pair Of  Scissors

Silly me again....yet another Boo Boo...I ordered them thinking they would arrive in kit form but they arrived made up....Bonus??? I suppose so but I was looking forward to playing with beads for a while. Never mind, they are so pretty and at least I can get on with some stitching.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Knitting Progress...

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well today.

It's a bit wet here but I'm told it will warm up and be sunny later....Mmm we shall see...!!!

This last week I have managed to complete four...Yes Four (4)...of my knitted squares towards my Simply Stylish Knitting Blanket....that's 20 squares so far....

I thought I was doing well....

This is not good...I am way behind especially as I have just received magazines and wool for squares 69, 70, 71 and 72 through the post...(How big is this blanket going to be?)....This is very bad and I really have to get my knitting needles into gear....

Anyway here are my latest knitted squares....

Not too bad for a knitting novice. I think they will look better when blocked though...

Lots to do today but I'm hoping to have some spare time later to pick up the knitting needles...

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

The Tour de Yorkshire....

Good evening everyone.

I hope you are all well.

While we were away in Whitby we were lucky enough to experience

The Tour de Yorkshire....

I love road cycling/racing so this was a real treat for me....

We popped over to Bridlington for the start of the race which was fabulous and so well supported. We managed to see each team as they were introduced and we were able to walk up and down to view the bikes/teams and their buses.....

Here are a few photographs....and guess what the sun came out too!!!!

Teams Waiting To Be Introduced...

Very Posh Team Buses...

 Fabulous Bikes....

The Start...

These Two Look Very Relaxed...

It was a great experience and one I hope to repeat again next year....maybe somewhere along the route next time though....

We did notice that later in the day when they cycled through Whitby they passed right in front of the door of one of the cottages we sometimes use....next time maybe at least I could stand and watch with a cup of tea in my hand.....

Anyway I'm happily catching up with the daily highlights of

Giro d'Italia.....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

FNWF ~ A Bit Of This & That....

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

So  I promised myself that on Friday I would join in at

Friday Night With Friends

Friday evening found me joining in with like minded crafter's from around the world who join together (virtually) that is.....on the first Friday of the month to do a spot of knitting, sewing, crocheting etc....whatever craft you like....

Thank you to Cheryll for hosting this fabulous get together.

It's a good way of focusing the mind and believe me after everything that has happened in the last few months my mind needs focusing ~ Good things have happened I might add....like moving house and of course marrying my best friend.....(see previous posts)....

I also continued to knit another square for my other blanket....(to be revealed towards the end of the year) for the KAL I joined at my local knitting shop....

I continued to knit squares towards the blanket below....

I also decided to try and move on with this piece of cross stitch that really needs finishing....

I managed to do a few stitches but spent some time sorting through the silks I will need for it...it's so long since I started this project that I'd dipped into my stash when working on other things....

I also need to finish The Holly Fairy too....but she is almost complete now...

As you can see I have quite a few things to be getting on with but I haven't started anything new yet which was one of my New Year's Resolutions.....to finish all my on~going projects before starting a new project!!!!....So far so good.....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

A Spot Of Colouring....

Good evening everyone.

I hope you are all well....

While we were away last week....Yes you guessed we spent our first week of married life in our favourite place....Whitby...

The weather wasn't great but we don't go for the weather....and anyway as Gareth always says...

'Theres no such thing as bad weather only bad clothing'....

I can't argue with that but it was a case of four seasons in one day most of the time....which allowed me some time to do a spot of colouring with the Distress Inks.....I am so out of practise but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it again....I think!!!

We had a lovely, modern apartment for a change, overlooking the sea and I managed to while away just a few hours of colouring....while watching the waves....

Here are a few of my very out of practise efforts...

I still have a way to go and lots of practise to get in but now things are beginning to settle down a bit after the house move and our wedding I may get a little more time to play....although most of my crafting supplies are still in storage and we are soon embarking on a major amount of building and decorating work.....oh well I'm sure things will slow down eventually!!!...

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.
